Marburg School of Microbiology

Our mission is to train the next generation of leaders in microbiology.

The Marburg School of Microbiology offers an internationally visible PhD program with excellent research and training possibilities for young scientists in all areas of modern microbiology.

The Marburg School of Microbiology is localized at the Philipps University of Marburg and the study program is designed in close collaboration between the LOEWE Center for Synthetic Microbiology (SYNMIKRO) and the Collaborative Research Center 987 ( SFB987).

More than 30 research groups contribute to the excellent education of our highly interdisciplinary, structured curriculum in all areas of microbiology including Microbial Ecology and Physiology, Cellular and Molecular Microbiology, Microbial Biochemistry and Structural Biology and Systems and Synthetic Biology.
